Trafficmaster Allure Commercial Vinyl Flooring

We recently installed a new garage floor for the Cromie’s, one of our great repeat customers. I have never used the Trafficmaster Allure Flooring before so I was skeptical but after installing it I am satisfied it will stand up to years of service. My standard for this type of floor is RaceDeck and I will be doing a table top review of Trafficmaster in a few days. My biggest complaint with the Allure is the manufacturers trim. The devil is always in the details and this is one area the manufacturer needs to improve. See the video for details!

Looks like stuff I’d like to use this weekend. Have any of you had a problem with a lingering vinyl odor. I’ve read some had had terrible results, long term, with smell. Please advise asap.

  4. ArtisanTony says:

@Datajunkies There was no odor with this vinyl flooring. There are no adhesives which are sometimes the culprit. I would recommend getting help from experienced flooring installers. I would say that is where most people screw up. Trying to do any type of project like this without experience is not a good idea. I wish you luck!

If you are going to try it on your own, get RaceDeck flooring which I think is a better floor.

I notice you went up to existing base boards. How were you going to cover the neds?? also do they alow for expation? thanks

  6. ArtisanTony says:

@tviswatchingu You can cover the edges with 3/4″ round trim and still allow for expansion. Thanks for comment!

Thanks for the great video….What compound did you use to fill the crack of the concrete floor? Thanks.

  8. ArtisanTony says:

@haylin547 We used a product made by Dap. It is a Pre-Mixed high-strength patching compound fortified with a vinyl polymer to increase adhesion and durability. Thanks for the nice comment!

  9. ArtisanTony says:

@haylin547 I call it a pre-mixed vinyl concrete patch! Thanks again!

Thanks for taking the time to make such a good video. The mix of the music matches the pace of the action really well. Wondering whether the Kaindl flooring product was in the end high quality. Thinking about installing some Kaindl laminate in my living room.

  11. ArtisanTony says:

@lefsepowered Thanks for the nice comment. IMHO the Kaindl flooring looks like a superior product to the Alure Trafficmaster.

    Don’t need 1/4 for expantion manufacture recomends 1/8 .

  13. ArtisanTony says:

@byronsantos72 This is what the manufacturer requires. I do not think it needs that much either but when you have to stand behind the installation you do what the manufacturer says. The 1/4″ is not noticeable and easily cover my shoe molding if the owner does not like it. What is your experience? Have you installed this flooring or any other type of flooring? I took a look at your channel. No uploads to see what your experience is.
