I recently had wood laminate flooring installed and have been using a swiffer and the wet pads to clean it.?

I see a film on the floor and was wondering if anyone has tips, or could tell me what they use on their laminate flooring. The directions say not to get it too wet or use chemicals so I am afraid of everything!

i know it sounds wierd but windex on any type of laminate works wonders.

That’s all we use on our floor as well. The film should come off with a sponge and warm water.

I’m afraid you’ll have to ask the company which you’ve bought it from..

For future reference, I advise you NOT to wet it at all!
Just sweep.. And if you want it clean, put anti-bacterial wipes on your swifer and quickly, very quickly go over the floor to get rid of the germs without ruining it.

You’re not supposed to wet laminate.
    Good luck <3

I have cleaned houses for many years. What is happening is the solution from the swifter pads is too thick that is why it is leaving a film. If it was me I would use just a cleaning towel damp to the touch . Warm water and that would be it. Have plenty of air stirring. also the step before I would vacuum with attachment soft brush to get rid of dirt before you wet mop. I have a place I clean that just laid wood laminate floor and he is pleased with what I do. It is safe and keeps floors clean

I was once told to use windshield wiper cleaner ( 4 lite jug ) damp mop and clean away. It evaporates fast so it shouldn’t hurt your floor.
